Epsom Salt is not actually a salt per say, but a pure mineral compound of magnesium and sulfate that was first discovered in Epsom, Surry, England. Epsom salts have traditionally been used since the 17th century. Long known as a natural remedy for a number of different ailments. It's known to have a numerous amount of different health benefits as well even uses in beauty, household, and gardening. It is well known that magnesium and sulphate are both readily absorbed through the skin, making a foot soak or bath in Epsom salt an easy and pleasant way to enjoy the associated health benefits. Studies have shown us that Magnesium plays a number of roles in the body including regulating the activity of over 325 enzymes, to reducing inflammation, helping muscle and nerve function. Sulphates, also found in Epsom salt, help improve the absorption of other nutrients, helps flush toxins out, and has also been known to help ease migraine headaches.

How to Use

Take epsom salt baths up to three times weekly. Start with a cup to check for skin sensitivity. Increase to 2 cups of salt to a waist-deep warm bath. You can add 1/2 cup olive or coconut oil, but do not use soap.As a foot bath, pamper weary feet by adding 1/2 cup of epsom salt to a basin of warm water. Relax and soak feet for 20 minutes. For extra luxury add a handful of rose petals or lavender. Epsom salts with dried flowers makes a lovely gift. In the shower or bath, mix a handful of Epsom salt with a tablespoon of oil and rub all over your wet skin to exfoliate and soften.

Storage and Shelf Life

Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
