HOW DOES CASTILE SOAP WORK?

Like most soaps and cleaners Castile Soap is alkaline (with a PH around 8.9) meaning that it is an effective cleaner similar to standard soaps yet it is less severe than bleach.  For this reason it is a fantastic multi purpose soap!

However be careful not to mix it with anything acidic such as vinegar or citrus juice as the acid will cancel out the Alkaline that is present in the castile soap.

HOW DO I USE CASTILE SOAP?

A fantastic multi-purpose product our castile soap base can be used in ways. Add a few drops of essential oil to make a customised scented body wash and/or hand wash, also mix it with coconut oil to make a moisturising shaving balm! If you are after a moisturising make up remover, mix equal parts castile soap, coconut oil or sweet almond oil, and witch hazel for a homemade zero waste option.

To make a general purpose zero waste all-purpose cleaner from our castile soap base, mix ¼ cup of castile soap to 2 cups of water (a few drops of essential oil too if you like) and you will have a cleaning solution that can be used from the kitchen to the bathroom.

It also makes a brilliant affordable pet shampoo!
